[Misc] Toshiba E-Studio 5520C HDD Problem

Hello everybody,

I`m from Germany and perhaps someone can help me:

I want to buy a used Toshiba E-Studio 5520C - but there are no HDD inside.

Is it difficult to install HDD especially with regard to the software?
Is here someone who could send me the software by mail for the HDD?

Does it work if I copy the software to the new HDD (incl. booting options?)

Easy, just many steps. Get yourself a service manual.

No. The firmware must be installed to the HDD while it's in your machine. A directory is created to locate the firmware during installation.

It might be simpler to hire your local dealer to install a new HDD and firmware. Only one hour labor. =^..^=

thanks for the PM's and your answers.

I think i will try it - not to buy a new hard disk from toshiba. "Many steps" sounds not difficult.

First I need to buy the printer and make a deal with the Seller.

It is good to know that I can install the firmware on the machine without much difficulty and expense by my own.
Is there a short manual for this?

Because I have never looked into this printer and this is about 400 km away - knows someone which HDD fits - about 160 GB, 3,5 inch but IDE or SATA?

one further question: can I check without the HDD the counter of prints/copies?

Hello

The printers are well received. Yes there are two - could not say no to the seller.
There are two 5520C with puncher and finisher MJ-1103

The first Toshiba works quite well now.
It was not hard to install the HDD and install the software.
(The second have failure F70 - but I'm still working on it.)

Only the scan document feeder still makes problems.
With the duplex scan I still getting dog eggs into the orginal document.
Is it only adjustment or something other ?

And maybe someone can help me - where does this part belong?
I believe it belongs to the finisher ?

I still have got the manuals SMH & SH and Parts list - but I believe no parts list from finisher ..... can somebody send me this?

The RADF exit guide has been changed for the dogleg per TSB-1095. Part number 6LH06983000
The part you are asking about is the finisher rail guide.

thanks for the informations.

Do you have got the TSB-1095 for me as a copy?
Can I see the differences between the 6LH06604000, 6LH06983000 and 6LH07064000 (last one seems to be the newest ??? or am I wrong ?)

I believe/know there are parts missing between finisher/puncher and printer.
I will asked the Dealer to send me the missing parts.

Is there also a rail between ? How does it look?
I only see there is somthing to be screwed on the finisher ....

Congratulation on buying of your Toshiba eStudio 5520c. I purchased the same machine at an auction, and I just wanted to compare it with your purchased price, how much did you buy each machine. I started the machine, but it gives me the same message, i.e. No HDD found. As I purchased it in an auction, therefore, I can not contact with the seller now, can you please guide me where I can buy the HDD, they have special HDD, or they are the same which are used in desktop computer, and can you please send me the software for it.
