TOSHIBA e-STUDIO455 Scan to E-Mail not workng

Anyone have the scan to E-Mail working using Gmail.
    Screenshotted my current settings.

Currently have Gmail set to allow from less secure apps.
Verified the user name and password.
Created a brand new Email account.

Error in the Scan Log "BE123C Failed SMTP Authentication"

    Printer Manufacture TOSHIBA
    Copier Firmware Version T470SY0U330
    Copier Main ROM Version 470M-22
    Copier Scanner ROM Version 470S-06
    Network Setting File Version 1.0
Anyone have this working and care to share the settings?

    Kindest Regards,

    Have you tried StartTLS? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Is the Gmail account active, accessible? I've often seen these accounts go inactive, for being ignored for months. =^..^=

          Yes the account is active.
Just signed out and back in to verify password after changes.

After the changes the error code changed.
Before the change "BE123C Failed SMTP Authentication"
          After
          ST123C Failed SMTP Authentication

Have you enabled "Allow Less Secure Apps" under Sign-in & Security on gmail account? If not, then it will fail every time. There's also a v.36A f/w patch that needs to be applied. Here's the notes on that patch:

Gmail for scan to email, failing.
            Google, disabled support for SSLV3
            Applying patch, should resolve issue.

I also use port 465 and Authentication set to AUTO.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

              With port 465 getting
BE123C Failed to connect to SMTP server
With the previous setting its failed to login.

Feel that this is close, Must be missing soomething simple.

Re: TOSHIBA e-STUDIO455 Scan to E-Mail not workng

                Settings as per Google recommendations:
Send email from a printer, scanner, or app - G Suite Administrator Help

Enable SSL: Accept all certificates with CA
                SSL/TLS: StartTLS
                SMTP Server Address: smtp.gmail.com
                Authetication: Login
                Login Name: email address
                Password: password
                Port Number: 587

From address must be the same as login name and Allow Less Secure Apps in gmail account settings.

Above works first time every time.

That being said I think you have a simple typo, remove the <> from around your Login Name
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

In situations like this a simple syntax error can get you. Do you see the syntax error in these addresses?:

                  user@copytechnet..com
                  user@cpytechnet.com
                  user@coptechnet. com
                  user@copytechnet .com

Yes, I see the errors in the addresses.
Attached a screen shot of my settings and exact email address.
                    It always fails Authentication.

Played with different ports, with the same results.

It shows plain but have since changed to LOGIN.

Appreciate all the help you guys have giving me so far.

From the panel the IP addresses connect when using trace or ping. So the thing is getting to the outside world.

Someone mentioned a later firmware. Does the Firmware installed have the patch?

                    Kindest Regards,

This is the point I'd usually setup a network bridge on my laptop and capture the data with Wireshark to see exactly what's going on.

As a process of elimination though and to isolate if it's the printer or the network you could try the following:

                      Download SendSMTP from here:
SendSMTP - Tool to send SMTP email via command-line parameters or interactively

Configure it like so (making sure username/password are correct):
                      settings 1.jpgsettings 2.jpg

See if you get an error message or check the log if it fails to see what the response you are getting from the server regarding the authentication failure.

That should help as the auth failure message on the MFD tends to be very vague but you can get better information looking at the actual message from the email server.

If on the other hand it works then at least you know the settings/account are ok and it is likely some issue with how the 455 is trying to authenticate.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

Using the sendSMTP the email is sent and received successfully.

With that said it has to an issue with the 455es.

Using these settings, try changing your DNS server settings to Primary: 8.8.8.8 and Secondary: 8.8.4.4, and see if that allows you to connect to smtp.gmail.com
