Toshiba 3511. Replaced HD. Now What?

Came in to bad sounds coming from a copier this morning. UI stuck on the startup screen. Turns out the HD was toast.

pulled out trashed drive (makes a great maraca now with all the noise it makes when you shake it!).

    put in a new HD

    Initialized the drive

    Formatted the drive

machine now powers up and makes copies like a champ!

Problem.... can't seem to get the NIC to see the network.

From reading through the various threads on this site it appears i need to update firmware.

Can someone help me with some sage advice on where to go from here?

    Thanks!
    Brett

(now i know why the leasing company waived the FMV payout and just said "keep it!")

The only step you left out was re-installing the UI and HDD firmware. If you know the version of firmware currently on your machine, then you only need to reinstall those two items. If you do not know what version of firmware is currently installed, then your best option is to install the latest and greatest firmware in its entirety.

Also, after installing the firmware you must perform 08 947.

I sent you two private messages. The first one was about an ES350 and I sent it by mistake. The second one concerns your machine, the ES3511.

Thank you for the firmware and readers digest version of the procedure.

something went south in my process of updating. after selecting to update the OS it appeared as if it was going to start, but then hung. after leaving it overnight it didn't move and wouldn't respond. i turned it off.

All i get now is the 'splash screen' and won't respond to any codes (i.e. 08, c3, 49, repeated kicks to the side panel).

what's my best bet to getting some response from it?

        Thanks!
