    2551c No Paper Error

There's paper in the bottom tray but it thinks there is not.
Every time I go to make a copy it says:

    'Operation can not be completed
Set original size'. Anybody know what might be going on?

Did you touch and highlight the bottom tray, if that is where you want to pull paper from?

yes I did touch and highlight bottom tray - but it did not work even though there is a stack of paper in there.

Actually I have a correction - it thinks the entire tray is missing.

Maybe a sensor is clouded with toner or something?

Remove the paper drawer and look in the back and check that the black (white button in middle)push switch did not get pushed through the back of the copier. This switch is common through out the Toshiba line.

I've seen the paper empty flag smashed, the slider smashed, the tray switch jammed right through the frame and laying in the bottom still attached to the wires. Or just paper behind the tray. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
              1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
              2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
              3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
              4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
              5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                Re: 2551c No Paper Error

Ok here's what I did. The bottom tray was malfunctioning no matter what I tried so I opened the back panel and disconnect the tray. So now I have 2 paper trays and one I can use as a storage drawer - I'm ok with that.

But there is a whole other issue which I initially thought was related to the bum tray, but it is not. And that's the problem where it says 'Operation can not be completed. Set original size'. I am still getting that error. Basically the APS is not working (auto paper select) where it has lost the ability to detect the orientation of the paper placed on the glass. I have to manually select a tray every time I want to make a copy - total pain.

I tried pressing the APS button on the screen but it is gray and inactivated. I tried doing a factory reset but that did not work. Anybody have any ideas? The last thing I can think of is firmware re-install but I have a feeling that may not work as well.

Open to any and all suggestions .....

'Operation can not be completed. Set original size'

Above message normally is due to MFP cannot recognize the paper size, since the drawer is set to LT & LT-R, the original paper put on the glass need to follow the size as well, otherwise above message will pop.

This is due to e2051/e2551c LL series does not comes with paper size detection sensor, u can see it under the glass...
