    Phantom paper misfeed?

For some unknown reason my 3511 has decided it has a paper misfeed in the transfer unit?
There was a paper jam and it was cleared and it was working fine up until this morning. I have checked all the paper paths and there is nothing there but the machine will not get passed initial start up then the error pops up and the beeping starts.

Is there a reset code i can use to clear this phantom error?

I agree, press Clear+8 when the jam screen is displayed. A code (Exxx) will appear in the upper right while Clear+8 is held down. Post this code to help narrow it down.

If it was turned off then on then the error code will be e030. I would check the paper trays(paper sticking out far enough to trip the sensor), the fuser exit switch, and the bridge sensors.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

If all sensors on the path are working try to check front sensor.
          I had twice so.

            Ah, yes, my bad..

It is an e030 code. No paper in the machine.

I've check the sensor function 03-Fax on-9 and i don't get a H code. I've replaced this sensor with one i know is working but i still get the same error.
I'm not getting a code for the Exit sensor either though and that was replaced a few months ago.
            Is the board shot?

If you are getting an e030 it should be pretty easy to trouble shoot. If you are sure there is no paper just go through all the 03/sensor tests till you find the one that is flagged. Take that sensor and jiggle it, blow it out with air, or replace it and see if that flagged status goes away. Of course this assumes it isn't a board problem which it probably isn't. But, if replacing the sensor doesn't work check the connectors, wiring harness for said sensor, and then finally the board.
