Messed up my Hard drive. E 356

Did a foolish thing. Tried to clone my hard drive in case I had a HD failure down the road. I have had success doing this before. Well something went wrong because now all I have is F101 5. I tried all the HDD recovery steps for the error to no avail. I'm sure if I reformat the drive and reinstall the firmware I'll be fine. I have an extra new HDD for the Toshiba with wipe technology. It's just larger than 160GB. It is 320GB. So where can I purchase the firmware? I know how to load it with 49-4. I have the manual. I hate it when I ruin something that was all well and good. Oh well.

Cloning the the addressbook via the User Functions > Admin will work.

Cloning the entire contents of the drive will not work. The contents of the drive are encrypted using the individual machines unique encryption password.

Install your new drive. Format it in 3C. Initialize the service password in 3C. Load the firmware. Initialize the firmware.

Sorry I do not provide firmware. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Make sure you get the correct Red dot, Yellow dot or No dot version of firmware for your e356.

Look under the glass, front right corner.

If you put the wrong firmware in, you might have to buy a new main board.

Didn't know about that. No one mentioned it. I have a yellow dot.

If you simply skip the scanner firmware, the rest is the same. =^..^=

I just went out on a Toshiba eStudio 203L Keeps coming up with a F105. Did a hard drive check and it failed. I have extra hard drives laying around will any do? Also I would need firmware. The customer had this machine in storage for a few years and decided they wanted it fixed. Any help would be appreciated... thanks

It has got to be the same size of GB's. I'm not familiar what type of drive is in the 203. If the drive says it has wipe technology then you must use a wipe technology replacement drive. I have firmware for the 3040C, however I don't have the 203L.
