Is the firmware located on the root of the USB drive not under any sub folder?
Are you trying to install V331 firmware? -

I seem to recall getting that message when I forgot to load the firmware to the stick. It would probably be best to reformat the drive FAT32 then copy the firmware folder: 2820C_3530C and file: mentusb2.o to the root.
