    Toshiba estudio 5005ac Saddle Stitch

    Hi all!

Was working with a Toshiba Estudio 5005ac, although I understand the 5015ac should be out soon.

I was running some tests and I noticed while the printer is capable of printing on 12x18, the saddle stitch finisher doesn't seem to support it.

Is there a workaround that anyone knows of in the service menu that would allow the finisher to staple 12x18?

Is it a software or a hardware limitation? Inspecting the hardware it certainly seems to support it.

Have any clients raised this issue before?
It seems like all the other manufacturers have no issue handling 12x18 within the finisher.

Yes, the MFP can handle up to SRA3 (320 x 450), and SRA3+ (320 x 460), simplex and duplex, up to 256 gsm, up to 24 ppm plain or 8 ppm Thick1/Thick2/Thick3 from 2nd tray or bypass, but not top tray.

In the MJ1110/C the finisher can pass up to SRA3 (but not SRA3+).
The stapling tray can staple up to ledger (but not Arch B, SRA3 , or SRA3+).
The saddle stitcher can booklet fold up to ledger (but not Arch B, SRA3, or SRA3+).

The eS5015AC uses the same finisher and saddle stitcher, with the same limitations.

This happens a lot with segment 3 and segment 4 MFPs. They can print production paper sizes and weights, but the finisher just can't match the capabilities. It leads to a lot of heartache, when these customers want these machines to do production work.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The print driver is non responsive when you try and staple 12" x 18" paper suggesting that this function is not available.

As this task is rarely requested by the SMB market that this copier is aimed at, I suggest you need to use a handheld stapler and focus on all of the other great things that this copier can do.
