Change Drawer to correct paper size displayed

Working on a Toshiba E 356 Copier, That Displays change drawer to correct paper size. I updated the firmware formatted hard drive, Turned off APS, messed around with a few 08 settings etc.No matter whether you put the copy on the glass or through ADF and even though the display drawer sizes are correct, letter, legal, when you make a copy or print the job status lights up and asked you to put paper in bypass tray. When i take a piece of paper on the glass and move it to the size sensors it does show the different and correct paper sizes. But still says change drawer to correct paper size? I am Stumped. Am i missing something obvious?
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
    Thanks

Sound like default paper is bypass , what happens it you load paper in bypass and make a copy? What paper size is it looking for?
see if you can set the default tray

Re: Change Drawer to correct paper size displayed

      There are three key questions:

      1) What exactly does the screen say? ALL the characters. Maybe a photo is the way to go.
      2) What media type is each tray set to, and what media type are you requesting? It has to match.
      3) What exact paper size is each tray set to, and what exact paper size is requested? It has to match also.

A good place to start is to read the screen. Just saying. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Have set default paper size. The machine acts like it does not know it has letter or legal paper in it even though the Display says LT and LG on the tray icon's, As soon as you put a letter sized paper on the glass or through ADF the screen says change draw to correct paper size.If i load paper in the bypass before copying or printing still says the same thing, and like i said before the size sensors under the glass are correctly indicating the size of the paper LT LG LD as i slide the paper over the sensors.

OK ... so you've answered question #3. One out of three isn't bad.

Are you going to address the other questions? I really don't have anything else to offer, especially if you really cannot read the screen. =^..^=

Attached a photo , Went back to customer today and did an 08 9090( reset logic), same thing, did 03 to check size sensors, all check Fine.Media type plain paper thick 1.Like i said before the machine acts like it does not know it has letter, legal etc, and problem occurs whether you copy or print, and as you can see in photo there is a letter sized paper on the glass and above the zoom icon the machine sees that it is LT to LT and normally (when the copier is working correctly)the letter tray would be selected.

From the User Function hard key, make Tray 1 Letter (LT) paper size. Make Tray 2 Letter (LG) size. Currently Tray 2 is set for Thick 1 paper. Make sure tray 1 & 2 are set to plain paper.

Yes, both trays are set to Thick1. The machine will not APS Thick1 media (auto paper selection) unless the tray is manually selected, or you include Thick1 in your driver selections. =^..^=

Re: Change Drawer to correct paper size displayed

Hey guys thanks for all the help, I finally got it to work on Friday,First of all i did not realize that APS mode would not work when media is set to thick 1. I might have had it fixed on Wednesday when i reformatted the hard drive or on Thursday when when i did 08 9090, but the machine had that problem even when thick 1 was not set, but not realizing that APS would not work when set to thick one caused my continued confusion.
Again would like to really thank everyone.
