    I know nothing about tosh.

But Ricoh the 1224c and 1232c i know can be ok machines if you work for Ricoh and have full tech support and one with all the firmware updated and mods fitted a customer who uses the machine as they should and you have luck. But in the heat of the phillipines and if you dont have all the resources of Ricoh then steer clear.

AF1022/27 I love them machines they work well and so easy to work on. only problem are the pcus need to be changed and are a little bit of a pain to take apart ( i rarely do but i know others do). The fusers are easy to change and look after.

run away from the Toshiba 3511,4511. They are labor intensive and require alot of maintenance.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

I would have to agree 110% with Mr. Spocks comment. I still have quite a few 35/4511's in the field and they are needy machines. The lease's are coming in and I am stripping them as fast as I can to feed other ones, and to make sure they don't go back out.

Hi PAULG if possible, I would like to have some further information for 1022/27 regarding the PCU - usually what do they change in it and usually what gets damaged on it.

Because if you are familiar with Aficio200/250 - the PCU's gear gets easily damage including the shaft where you put the gear beside development sleeve, and once this happens even if you change the gears the problem goes back and you really need to replace the whole PCU.

Hoping someone can give additonal information on the PCU of A1022 & A1027.

Sorry i missed your Post, only here now and then.

I see your other thread answered the issue. They can be taken apart. But many techs will not take them apart due to the self tapping screws and in theory lack of parts for the PCUs. As in many countries they are replaced by the customer.

Hopefully you have had your question answered in your other thread.

As well as the making sure the gears get no dev on them as others mentioned in your other thread. Make sure all the seals are in place. As they tend to get knocked out of place and go missing meaning they either end up in the toner entrance blocking it or you get toner spraying the inside of the machine.

Do also make sure the firmware is on the latest as there was a problem with fusing codes occuring.

I have several 3511/4511 color boxs in the field and I will surely agree with the needy and labor intensive copiers. I try not to sell those if possible being that I feel the Konica-Minolta is suited better for color copying, but the customer is usually price driven and what am I going to say... no, I don't want your money?

Stay clean away from the 1224/1232's.... Not a very good copier and labor intensive if they get that dang squeak.

Aficio 1022/27's are a very reliable copier.. one of my favorites.

Toshiba makes a good 23 and 28 cpm copier....
