e-Studio 3540C C970 error

Unable to resolve C970 error.
Have thoroughly examined all of the charge assemblies, replaced the grids and sawtooth - inspected the posts to make sure they're not broken
- replaced HV unit
- replaced all 4 drums
- replaced transfer belt (it was well worn)
- thoroughly cleaned the machine

Still has C970 and a patch of toner on the black drum immediately after warmup
Running out of ideas without stripping the machine and examining the wiring from the HV board

Thoughts?

When dealing with C970, I often check the main charger unit, check any burn mark on the front & rear terminal, sometime the charger rod cleaner also will cause charging issue, where u can try to remove it for testing.

Since u are having issue on k process unit only, what u can do is to swap the drum unit with 1 of the color process unit and see. If the C970 follow, then confirm is main charger issue. If not, then might be other issue...

replaced the main charge unit assy. Most likely it's arching somewhere.
