    e-STUDIO2500AC Lifetime ?

Hello ! it's Mr Newbie here

A friend will get a free e-STUDIO2500AC from an abandonned rental (yes, sometimes they don't get back the old copier and leave it as this...)

I download a lot of specs and user manuals but don't already find if this copier is old, very old, or just a trashcan...

    Some counters numbers :
    Total scans : 95.000
    Total prints : 270.000

What do you think about this e-STUDIO ?
In general where can I find theses informations ? service manual ?

Thank you very much for yours comments !

I'm sorry, perhaps "lifetime" is a translation mistake ?
I know for electro/mechanicals devices there is no expiration date but "lifetime" is in correlation with number of uses
There's probably some problems with caoutchoucs parts who's can degrade (even used or not)

So, with 260.000 prints do you think it's a copier middle life ? end life ?

      Thank you ;-)

270k is middle to long life if the copier has been well maintained.

If not, the copier could easily require $500.00 in parts plus labour to extend the reliability and image quality for hopefully another 100k.

If you power on the copier while holding down 9 & Start key, the copier will beep. Then enter 103 and Start key.

The copier will print off its Preventative Maintenance list giving you a good indication what needs to be replaced.

About the only way you can run this machine for any length of time, is to start your own K2 graveyard. If you buy 6 or 8 of these corpses cheap, maybe you'll have enough parts to make one of them work for a while. New parts are as rare as hen's teeth. It will be an exercise in frustration for you. =^..^=

          Edit: Wait a minute! Is this a K2: e Studio 2500C or a Weisshorn Low: e Studio 2500AC?

The Weisshorn Low is definitely newer, and parts still available, but that's medium to high count for a light duty machine.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
          1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
          2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
          3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
          4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
          5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

            .
He needs to enter FS mode to access 9S List Print to print those maintenance sheets counters. Don't think he can get straight into 9 and Start mode unless the control panel has a Key Panel option installed? Never seen this option to any customers so far so I could be wrong..

I hope you do not plan to lift it several times just to print off a maintenance report.
