Everything was working fine, and all of the sudden, the LCF (if I'm using the wrong term, the large capacity feed that holds 4000 sheets) began to misfeed. Nothing had happened to the copier.
I had changed all of the pickup and other rollers for the LCF several months before. I ordered and replaced the main pickup roller. Still misfeeding. I called a copier service tech. Idiot. Told me that the LCF must have suddenly bent because the paper was meeting the metal at the top of the door. When you push the top few sheets of paper in, then it would copy for a while and then misfeed.
Nothing had happened to the copier. It was just sitting there like it had been.
When testing without paper, the rollers do spin, so that's not the problem. I can tell that the pickup roller is making contact with the paper. I'm thinking now it might be the feed rollers behind the pickup roller, and I'm going to order new ones. But if anyone has another idea, your input is appreciated.
