    Turning off APS ES-2508A

I can't for the life of me find out how to turn off auto paper selection on this model. I was told it's in the service section but being unfamiliar with service mode on Toshiba I wanted to check here before I start in service mode. Every other copier I have worked on, this can be set in user mode or admin mode. I just sold this to a customer and they copy checks and want it to default to tray 1 letter. I showed them to just select the tray and it will put it on letter but of course one person there doesn't want to have to do that.

The simplest way to exempt a tray from auto paper selection is to set a media type other that Plain. The enduser will STILL have to select in the driver either tray # or media type (or both) if they want to print onto those checks.

Now, if you're talking about Auto Tray Switching it comes defaulted to OFF, and it's set in the web interface.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Easiest way to do it is to create a Copy shortcut on the Control Panel. Select the Copy Screen, select the tray/any other settings you want to be defaulted in copy mode and the press the Home icon with the plus sign in top right of screen, you will probably be asked to put in the admin password and a Copy shortcut is created, just put it somewhere on the screen. Users will have to press that copy shortcut and then Start, they will like it.

        Default setting for APS/AMS
        08-9133
        0: APS (Automatic Paper Selection)
        1: AMS (Automatic Magnification Selection)
        2: Not selected

Toshiba's "Register from Job History" or "Home+" button leads the industry in LCD panel customization tools.

I saw that in the manual but I am unsure how to get there. Would 0 be off or on? I find the service mode on Toshiba confusing compared to Canon which is what I am used to.

I convinced them to leave APS on. I showed them that taking it off they would have to select tray 2 for ledger size when needed so it didn't make sense since either way they have to press a button.
                Thanks everybody for the help.
