    Toshiba eStudio 257 Gray copies

Yes gray, with none of the original image, only on scans through the DF. Scans off the glass register 15mm late, but are otherwise normal.

The scanner moves smoothly, normally, except maybe for the scanner motor shock mount which is nearly separated. The MFP homes the scanner only during initialization, so after a few scans the timing belt has jumped several teeth, and when the scanner is supposed to be under the slit glass, it is instead under the white plate.

It was a fairly simple MacGuyver to find a couple M3 x 10mm screws, and use the shock mount instead as a spacer screwing all the way through.

The second choice took a little more time, but I think I like it better. It wasn't easy cleaning away the old rubber mount, but I found a replacement rubber washer. We shall see if the contact cement is durable enough.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Sadly Toshy quality in midrange A3 monochrome MFPs looks to me went down.

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
