    2050c color developer question

A client needs a color developer change and I noticed a big price difference on the color developers as opposed to the black developer prices. I know on certain machines you can in stall bk developer and sky shot out the black toner until it is replaced by the color toner. Can this above method work successfully on the Toshiba's?

I've done it once in an emergency but still holds a very dark colour. If the dev has depleted check the main charge, drum spaces and make sure that there is no spot on the drum that has worn through the coating, otherwise you'll be replacing the dev again very soon.

You will be successful doing this.

After changing the developer you must reset the developer counter and run the developer stir first to establish a baseline toner density ... then you can start to consume the black toner out of the unit. Typically, I use a 80% fill electronic image, with a nice 25mm wide lead edge void, so you do not get any fuser wraps during the process.

Once you get the yellow developing properly, then you can do the color calibrations.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

The client called with a background when they are making color prints, the developer is not depleted but the Y and M have wavy internal test prints and very close to PM. I had the same issue with black developer a few months back and the developer fixed the issue.
