    e330AC - C280

Is anyone else running into intermittent C280 issues on the e330AC series? We get it quite a lot at various locations. Every time, it just requires a reboot and everything works fine for several months or more. We keep FW up to date and still see the issue. I'm wondering if it's caused by brownouts. Hoping others are seeing similar and have any insights.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

we've had it once in the past 12 months, but that was about 3 weeks ago. Important customer so we swapped the whole scanner assy with a known working scanner. If it comes back in we'll know it's not the scanner, so far so good. Customer said there was a noise before the code, they reported the fault then cycled the power and it worked okay after that.

Not much help for you, but it is an anecdotal data point.

We've had a couple of these out in the field where swapping the scanner assembly was required. From what I remember there was an issue with the flat-ribbon cable to the scanner assembly coming loose or becoming damaged and interfering with the movement of the carriage, I think also the drive belt may have come loose on another one.
No, I will not send you Manuals, Software or your own little repair Genie to fix all your problems for you.

On other Toshibas I've seen loose belt or damaged shock mount on the scanner motor.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We have had to clean and lubricate the scanner rail to fix this on a few of these for that error code...
