One of my techs told me that a couple of the 4518's we have in schools, after several replacements of the toner cartridge, the foam seal on the developer unit isn't springing back
up, and the toner is being blown into the cavity over time and works its way into the charge & erase lamp area.
There is a bit of a gap and I'm going to try this to see if it correct the problem. Unfortunately, that seal isn't listed as an individual part in Ribon. You have to order the entire
developer unit.
Anyone else seen that? He called tech support, they suggested a small rubber band under the seal, to squeeze it up a bit.
