    Trouble Loading Firmware

Hi, I have a Toshiba ES3055c that has an F106 hdd error. I went back today with a new drive and I can format it and clear the service password. When I go into firmware mode it reads the usb drive and shows the firmware versions but when I hit start it just goes to the F106 Error screen. Is there a step that I am missing or something.

    Thanks in advance guys.

That is because you did not use a Toshiba ADI drive. All machines any more, use a "wipe" drive that is married to the machine.
If the drive is not a wipe drive, ADI drive, it will not work. In the "old days" when they were switching to the wipe drive, the
machines had conventional drives, but ones they have a wipe drive, you cannot resort back to a non wipe drive.
It's fallout for that guy that bought a bunch of used/referb machines that were not reverted (wiped) back to stock.
He was able to download data stored on the hard drives and it sent the entire industry into a panic, hince the wipe drive.
If the wipe drive is removed, it can be married to another drive, but all of the information would be wiped, when the drive
is installed. The old drive should have a sticker that says "ADI wipe technology".
