          quick answer

take out the drum unit and contol main charger.sometimes there is a trace of discharging one the corona cleanershaft. take it away and try a copy if it works know what it is. another thing make a copy shut down the copier if paper is near drumunit.there is an image on the drum unit maincharger is ok if its all black main is foult.other wise have to control transfer sep.corona for leaking or broken coronawires.
          good luck

                      Hello Don Larson :
I noticed you recommended "Two Updates".
I am aware of the MC covers were modified with the rubber cushions that helps the arcing problem.
                      Is there another modification?
Do you happen to have and is it possible to get the tech bulletins regarding this error code?
Thanks & have a great day.

Best solution I have found is to clean out the corona blocks / frame really good with water and a little soap. Make them shine. Then hand string the corona pretty tight. Take a look at the way the stock string stretches the spring. Stretch that spring tighter than stock by stringing it by hand. Foam rubber insulators don't hurt either, or toshiba's mods in addition to hand stringing them. You will find you have FAR less problems I firmly believe. Stringing them tighter makes them oscillate less / arc less. Make sure you bend/break the tails off the wire with a pair of needle nose.

edit - the two mods one was different covers that were stiffer with a little foam cusion that touched the wire... a "damper" of sorts

the other (maybe first) was just little foam blocks that just slipped over the wire.

I think you were not supposed to use both at the same time?? Stringing them by hand in the fall or if you have low humidity is IMO the only way to go.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

One of the first mods was a heavier spring. What you can also do is bend the brass hanger on a bit of an angle to put more tension on the wire.
