    Toshiba E-Studio 2040c Firmware Needed, please

    Good day/evening.

    I've recently acquired this Toshiba estudio 2040c for our small business. It was working great but then encountered an error C4b1 which after researching the error states that the HDD is undetected.

    I've reset to factory, checked keys and now after using a guide online I've formatted the HDD with Firmware Assist Mode. Now I'll need to hookup a USB with the firmware to proceed, however, it seems challenging to get ahold of. If anyone reading this has a US/CA version available, it'd be very much appreciated as we just started using and configuring it before a firmware reinstall came up.

      Toshiba Tec discontinued this copier in 2011 with no current support offered from the manufacturer. The e2040c was replaced in 2012 by the e2050c which was a significant improvement.

      Time to replace this old dog an accept that it was a bad purchase.

          Hi there and thanks for your input. it was a freebie printer which looked like a good way to build some printer service skills for today. I was hoping that someone would have an firmware for it to bring it back to life, if possible. 😶*🌫️

              I dump my old firmware after we have NO inventory of machines that have been DOA'd. I dumped that one a long time ago.
              Sadly, it's time to let it float away.

                  Hey Guys,

                  The solution was to research which "current" firmware was compatible with this machine and found it online. Loaded it over the old firmware across all 5 options and it finally booted. Going to leave the shop link if anyone else is on the hunt.

                  Ps:
                  I can confirm that this firmware brought the e-studio 2040c up to V4 / 2013 (from stock V3 / 2011)
