    e330AC Doc Feeder

In the attached picture, the two black plastic arms in the blue feed roller section are stuck in the vertical position.

I removed the blue cover but there are no obstructions.

The Service manual says it could be a motor but tech support says they have never had to replace one.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Those stoppers are driven by the DSDF transport motor. Once the ADF detects an original, it rotates to push the stoppers down. Once the stack is run through, original sensor is empty, motor reverses to bring the stoppers back up. Check transport motor and original detect sensor.

I was onsite today and noticed the LCD panel was displaying a message, "Close the Document Feeder". The Doc Feeder was clearly closed.

With the help of a co-worker, we determined that on the ADF Top cover, when opened, near the back of the copier, is a black plastic projection that inserts itself into and depresses a sensor below the ADF deck.

Somehow the black plastic projection got bent out of shape. I reformed it with my finger and pointed out the same to the customer in case it happens again. The copier is located a three hour drive one way away.
