Toshiba e-Studio 207 Scan to File

i had installed an e-Studio 207 with GA-1190 network printer option and GA-1200 scan kit. Scan to Email is working ok. When trying to do Scan to File i am getting NG A4 error. I had tried on both XP and vista pc. Windows XP SP3 with escan antivirus and connected on workgroup of 4 computers. windows vista ultimate with escan anti virus. The Scan folder is shared with full access permission for everyone. Even full access is assigned to everyone under the security tab also.

any other options / settings which i had missed. Thanks in advance.

With the Vista machines you have to have a user name and password. If not scanning will not work. I would have to check what the a4 error is but would check the ip address and how you have the network setup. If it is dhcp then use the computer name but make sure the dns info is correct.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

      Few things to check

Just a few ideas: check to see that the firmware is at the latest, and that a good user name and password is entered in the save as file properties - even if it is open to everyone, it will still need to validate a login. Also, if you are scanning to an SMB name, make sure you have the DNS server set, or a WINS server specified - see if you can scan to it with it's ip address, such as \\192.168.2.34\Scan Folder

        Mr Spock & Paper Path

        Thanks for the immediate reply.
This is brand new machine which is installed today only. the path is specified as \\ipaddr of pc\share name and the login user name and password is also given.even the dns is also specified and \\computer name\share name also tried, both the path returns the same error code.

        Thanks in advance

          may be a stretch

Whatever username you are using to login, put that username specifically in the share permissions of the directory and give it full access. I have seen group permissions act flaky.

            try using REMOTE2 option

            Hi all.
I had some issues with 351c, 352, 353, 4520c and 207 using the SMB with remote1. Just try to use remote2 to test it.
If DNS is not set then resolve the server with the ip address.
