estudio 3511 bride unit won't reset jam.

If I get a jam in the bridge unit the machine won't reset after the jam is cleared until I power down and up.
I have checked the door switch on the unit and it is good.
Both sensors in the bridge are good because it will pass paper just won't reset when it jams.
    Any ideas??
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

while jammed, get a jam code. hold down "C" and "8" buttons. Get this code and get back to us...it might be something else causing the jam. EMujo

the actuator may be knocked out of position. I've seen this a bunch of times. Remove the bridge unit and inspect.
Also the sensors themselves have been known to fail. The code would be E940/930 for the sensor closest to the finisher and E920 for the sensor closer to the fuser.

When they fail, they often work at first but then fail after a few copies.

If you have a buggy sensor and need to get it running, you can use the one for tray full detect (on the bridge unit, underneath the unit) as a replacement. Just leave that space empty. The machine will work fine, except it will never detect that the inner tray is full, which has never been an issue.
