    [Jamming] Toshiba 4520c with MJ1101

    Hi,
In one Toshiba 4520c with the MJ1101, when someone print something with 1 original one or more copies, the printing pages go to the tray2 in the MJ1101. But when this happens the Shutter don't go down, the paper beats him and the jam happens.

This happens almost all the time that is only one original. "Ever" that is more than one original the Shutter goes down and everything goes well.
If it's only one original, and we make more than one copy, the Shutter never go down.
Only one time this happens to me with more than one original.
It's the same in print or copy mode, if it goes to tray2, this happens (one original jams, if it's more everything goes fine).
Don't give a code, only when jam's more then 6 sheets, and the code is about the jam in the beginning of the MJ. Because if it's less than 6 sheets, they stay together against the Shutter and don't touch any sensor.

The machine have the version 2.02 of firmware.

    Someone have this problem already?

Check the version of firmware on the finisher. It is updated separately from the machine. If it is below v22 then update. This is how this works with a single original. Also what is the jam code?
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Well I think by "beginning of MJ" you are probably refrencing an EA20 jam, which if memory serves actually references several different locations in the finisher and troubleshooting for each. However, the entrance sensor is the first one listed so maybe that is what you are getting?

By shutter do you mean the grate shaped "thing" at the exit end? I had one where the wiring harness which is routed in that moving gate was loose from it's stays and it would drop down sometimes but most of the times it would hang or drop so slowly the paper would crash into it. I believe that grate is driven off a clutch or motor up then I know it's gravity that brings it back down... so you could also try replacing that clutch or motor.

If I understand correctly: it only happens with multiple originals which of course in sort mode sends it to moveable tray 2. But it doesn't happen with one original which of course sends it to the stationary tray on top bypassing the whole grate guide, etc... Am I correct?
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

If you print from the computer it's ever for the Tray2. And in copy mode, if it's more thant one copy go to to the tray2.
I don't remember the jam code, but if it's 4 copies of only one original, don't appear the jam code, because the paper it's "crumpled" at the end. And as it passes across all the sensors don't appear any code.
The weird thing to me, it's because, if it's 20 copies of one original with one sheet, the copies go to the tray2, the Shutter stay up, and she jam. If it's 20 copies of one original withe 3 sheet's for exmple, the shutter go don't and everything goes fine.

This is the correct operation for this machine.
Check 08-253 for error codes. It could be crl in the paper or as mentioned previously the intake sensor for the finisher. I have had the spring on the actuator be too weak and cause jams.

            I go check that..
The version of the firmware is v22.
the jam code it's the ea23.

the weird thing, it's that she only jam's when it's only one original, if I print 1 page 20 times, she jams, if I print 20 pages one time everything goes fine. it's ever 20, the traget it's the same...

This is a common problem on these finishers. If you take off the stationary tray and watch the output you will see on the front side of the finisher a white gear assembly. This assembly wears out and the gears skip. Tosh calls it "Lever-Gear Holder" and the part number is 6LB09808000.
