[Misc] Toshiba eStudio 3510c HDD reformat

So I was asked today to wipe the hard drive on a Toshiba eStudio 3510c. Not being a Toshiba trained tech, I'm not sure exactly what's involved.

I know some MFPs hold firmware/system software on the hard drive. I don't want to turn the machine into a doorstop. I just want the documents purged that are stored on the HDD, and have a functioning MFP left. It's OK if the network/scanning setup information is lost. It's getting returned to the leasing company.

I don't mind selling them a HDD if that's required, but what about firmware/system software/settings? What do I have to do? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

two ways you can clear scans etc on a tosh via top access delete all logs
or format hdd )o8-690 this will not effect any firmware only remove scans etc on hdd any user codes or templates etc
if they want to keep their hdd a stnd hdd is all you need set to cable select put it on the machine and format 08-690

Please explain "set to cable select".

Dave- If you want the Parts & Service manual I'll send it along at no charge. I 'may' be able to get you the firmware as well. Let me know.

If you replace the drive you will need to reload the firmware. If you have the firmware then there is a quick option to remove and replace the partition (needs to be done on a replacement anyway).

If you need anything pm me and I will see what I can get to you. By the way the most recent firmware for this machine is 120megs.
