[Error Code] Toshiba e-studio scan to email

I must be missing a step.
This is a small installation no email server. No server at all. 3 computers plus laptops that log into wireless router into cable modem. Network all setup fine. Everything works fine - prints, scan to a WinFax application on one machine works fine - e file works fine- Everything except Scan to email.
I set up with all fields. Doesn't ask for much.
But after I scan get message e-mail not sent.
In setup there was a message No POP3 but did not see a specific POP3 setup section.
    thanx

If you are using the FQDN of the SMTP server then make sure you have your DNS information entered into the machine. Alternatively you can just ping the SMTP server and get it's IP address and use that with out the use of DNS.

    Good luck!
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

Sounds like you might be a little over your head. Scan to email doesn't have anything to do with their network really. If they don't have their own SMTP, then you are accessing the ISP's (or someone's) SMTP server. You need the gateway set up correctly along with hostname, DNS & any authentication for the SMTP server. Do some searches on here. I've posted a number of times about scan to email.
      Hope that helps !

our policy is no on-site email server means we won't support/guarantee email scanning. What they have is no different that what most people have at home. they simply don't have the network infrastructure to support email scanning. Doesn't mean I don't try and haven't been successful, but often not worth the time.

Switch to scan to file. these are the easiest mfps to accomplish this. you can modify settings in admin mode via the web browser but don't change things if you aren't used to it.

From a computer, click on start then click on run and enter the following:
\\192.168.1.30 use the ip address of the mfp but I wanted to include a sample

a window should pop up that will list the file_share folder double-click that folder like you would with any Windows folder
you should see the Scan folder
from the MFP panel, chose the scan to file option and the top highlighted location should be the MFP's hdd itself

Might be showing my ignorance but surely they have to have theor own email server to scan to email otherwise no destinstion, would be a bit difficult to reach a pop server

          might be wrong thougth
