    Toshiba e600 scanning problem

Client needs to scan to local PC but on the copier is missing Web Scan Service, there are only 3 services available on the menu but this one is missing. Any suggestion on how I can get this service started on the copier?

Its a law firm and they need direct scan to PC for documents, not through shared folders on the network.

Thank you in advance for help.

Do you mean Web Services Scan used by Windows Vista. e600 are three models back and may not have had this feature?

It might be possible to do a firmware update to bring this copier up to e623 series which likely has this feature.

Or do you mean TWAIN scanning initiated by software located on the PC? Is so, the TWAIN driver is located on the Client Utilites CD. If you do not have the CD, you will have to download and burn an ISO copy from Toshiba FTP site.

Ditto to SalesServiceGuy...bring it to at least 329 (i think it's up to 350 something now). This will give you the icon you are missing. Emujo
If you don't see your question answered in the forum, please don't think it's OK to PM me for a personal reply...I do not give out firmware and/or manuals.

Well, the cust. found and manual online and this web services for vista is listed there. They install the twain driver and plugged with USB to the copier, but the pc couldn't see the copier at all.
Where can you get the firmware update and how do you perform the flashing?

        Thank you.

1st and foremost, doen't matter what version the MFP is at, it has to have the print, or print/scan enabler plugged in to make it a printer/scanner. Won't even work as a USB device if no enabler. Look for a colored USB thumb drive plugged in near the ethernet port to verify this. 2nd, if the MFP is under a maintenance contract, call your rep and have them come out and do the update. Should be free of charge. If you have no contract I would reccomend having a Toshiba service guy do this, should be around 100-150 $$$. Enabler will set you back 800 to 1000$. Post and let us know how your MFP is configured. Emujo

What colour is the thumb drive and is it covered by a grey plastic protector with two screws? Are you a Toshiba trainned tech? If not, you got to get someone who is and it is going to cost you a couple hours of labour.
