    [Misc] Trouble Upgrading Firmware on an E-Studio 162

    When I try to open the tree, it doesn't open with any contents. The machine is connected to my laptop and the laptop recognizes the connection. Any help with the instructions would be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Dan

    I'm pretty sure that you can just plug a USB drive direct into these copiers with the firmware on the USB drive.

    If this is what you are already doing, then make sure that the folder structure on your USB drive is correct, otherwise the machine won't recognise the firmware on there.
    Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

      You use the pc not a thumb drive to do this and it is a slightly complex set of instructions. You will need the service manual (chapter 15) to do this correctly. This is a sharp rebadged I believe.
      And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

        Sorry, my mistake. I was thinking of the 165.

        I think you will find that you are right in saying that the machine is a re-badged Sharp as well.

          Go to COM1 properties and set the following settings.
          Flow control= "0" or none
          Set bps to 38,400
          Parity= None
          Stop bits= "1"
          I've also included the Sharp firmware procedures in case anything got lost.
          Attached Files
          Hope that helps !
