    toshiba 3500c wasting developer!!

i have a toshiba 3500c that sems to be running out of toner about two times a month. the toner is getting down to the imaging unit, has anyone ever had this problem? also the drum on the imaging unit is getting stained with what looks like toner but its in a uniform pattern all around the drum, I was also wondering what could be causing this mess.. thanks in advance any help is welcome.

How much experience have you with these boxes? There were a few mods earlier on for the EPU's.
Main things I would check first are the contacts for the drum in the rear interior. The charge assy (check the black covers on either end for bends or cracks, make sure the plastic pin on the earth block hasn't broken, check for any arching.) Also make sure the mag roller has been buffed until it is nice and smooth before you install new dev. Gotta say it, use genuine toner.

IF the toner pattern is toner stuck to the drum then there have been no "fixes" that I have found to work.
Check the mag rollers. are they smooth or grooved? They changed to a grooved roller to help with developer depletion and excessive drum wear.
Also check the drum shaft for the little blue spacer on the rear side. If this is not there it causes issues as well.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

Even with all the mods and FW updates these still run kind of dirty. That is your biggest enemy on these boxes. They have to be spotless. Clean each mag roller with 220grit or scotchbrite, do the same to the facing roller inside the transfer belt unit (this facing roller is unrelated to your issue.) Also clean off the needle electrodes with a brush or styrofoam packing peanut. Clean the grids off good as well. Near as I can figure the spots stuck to the drum are caused by dirty main charges, the new models will do it from time to time even though they have the grooved rollers and run 100x cleaner.

        Edit: Hey 500 posts!
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
