    Toshiba e-Studio 720 - can't see scanned docs

    Hello

For the last couple of years we've used a Toshiba e-Studio 720 MFP as a network printer for printing, copying and scanning but . . . a couple of months ago we upgraded the office PCs to Windows 7 and now can no longer connect to the FILE_SHARE area to access scanned documents.

I can see through TopAccess that my documents have scanned into the 720 successfully.

Is this a Win 7 problem and is there a workaround for getting my scanned documents ?

Thank you very much for your help.

First update the firmware of the machine.
Second make sure the copier and the computer are on the same workgroup.
Make sure this is the "home" network for the computer.

Version 320 or higher is required for winblows 7 to work.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

This will probably fix your problem

        1. Go to Top Access (type in IP of machine into web browser address bar.)
        2. Go to Admin
        3. Password is 123456
        4. Go to Setup > Network
        5. Go into SMB Session
        6. Click digital signature is NOT done for client and server both.

See if that helps, usually does!
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.

            Happy New Year

Thanks for these suggestions - office reopens on 4th Jan so will start again then. Having Windows 7 on the PCs has caused all sorts of problems throughout the systems, not least this one of not being able to access scanned documents.

Previously when I installed a new XP PC I would simply create a desktop shortcut to this address \\192 . . . . \file_share\scan and that would be it, job done, full access to the SCANNED DOCS folder.

The other option in the back of my mind is to re-activate an old XP machine, leave it switched on and use that as an access point for scanned documents for staff to use.

These are my current digital signature settings.

SMB Signing of SMB Server If client agrees, digital signature is done for the communication. SMB Signing of SMB Client If server agrees, digital signature is done for the communication.

              Are these set incorrectly then?

              Thanks

Thanks. The firmware version is T390SY0A300, we have a MS Small Business Server domain of which the copier is part. what exactly do you mean by 'make sure this is the 'home' computer'?

Success ! In the SMB session, SMB Signing of SMB Server I changed the default to be 'Digitial signature isn't done for the communication for the server'.

Restarted the printer, created a new shortcut to the SCAN folder and immediately had access to my scanned documents.

Thanks ToshibaTech and everyone for your help.

Good deal. This was the case with Vista as well. Spock is right there is a FW update that also addresses this problem, but if you don't have/want to do FW then this is the manual fix.
I will not give you service manuals or firmware.
