Hello all... I have a Toshiba 452 and a 352 that I would like to send back to a leasing company. This is not a brand that I service or sell as of yet. Customer downsized and purchased a rebuilt MFP off us. I want to do the right thing and remove any information that I can to send it back to them. Some time ago I formated the drive in a PC, and I'm sure that the MFP needed files on it to boot. So now it wont boot. (nice test..) Is there a service mode that I can run to format and still have the machine work at the wholesaler? Again thanks. Just want it OK for them and not see it on CBS. Russ

you need to power off the machine hold 3 & clear button down. Then choose option 3.
Power off machine and follow the instructions for reloading firmware. This will not work with out the firmware loaded on the hard drive. And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right! -
With the copier off, hold 08. Turn on copier, release 08 when you hear the copier "beep". When the machine says "TEST MODE" , press 690 then start. Reset the copier, and the hard drive should be formatted. This will not erase the firmware, but will kill all "personal" settings. If you are worried about HIPAA, you may as well just pull the drive and run boot and nuke.Comment

Thank you so much everyone for the information. I will give it a try this week. ** Maybe all of us can setup a link or post for all of us to with a quick way to format an MFP drive for all types of machines. All of us "old timers" know our brand of machines, but it would be helpful to find a place where we could reference on how to wipe a drive safely to return to a warehouse. I would be willing to start up on Kyocera. Thanks. RussComment
