estudio451c pdf error msg

i am getting an incompatible pdf version error msg and cant optimize pdf's? the client can no longer scan large docs and shrink them for e mail. the machine was swopped out with another e studio 451c due to image problems,the machines are identical, can anyone suggest a cure for this?
is there a simple setting in the service mode?to be able to do this?

Are you getting the error message on your PC when you are trying to open the newly scanned/created pdf from the toshiba or is this error happening as soon as you try to scan something on the Toshiba and the error is displayed in the control panel?

I may be having a similar problem on an EStudio 4511. What is the default admin password to print out a config page?

the message comes from adobe acrobat prgm on the pc.I willl check the firmaware .

My auth code on the 451c and most all toshibas i work on is 123456
