    Toshiba estudio 250

Hey guys and gals I have a estudio 250. When it was bought I don't believe that we got any options really. I do know that it has a parrell port on the right side on machine (looking from the front). We are looking to upgrade the machine so that it has all of the parts to fax/scan/print (network)/ and whatever else it can do. So I've got a couple of questions.
    1. Is this a complete list of the parts I need?
    GA1031 Printer Kit
    GF1110 NIC Kit
    GC1020 Memory
    GD1061 Fax Kit
GD1070 (got this one already..what is it?)
    2. I've built computers for a long time....is it hard to install all of these parts?
    3. Are there print drivers for Windows 7?
    4. What is a good scan software to use?
    5. Will it scan upto the 11x17 cap?
    6. Is it worth upgrading this machine? (Only 84,000 prints on it.)

Thanks- I hope I got this post in the right section,
    Tray.

Its called you are a computer tech. Call a copier guy, its what we do. I fix computers as they are simple, SIMPLE not a whole lot going on if a hard drive fails you replace it. Not going to take it apart and rebuild it. As for a copier its a lot more complicated. I am not saying that we are smarter or better its just what we do. And since the advent of digital networked machines we have had to become PC intensive. And network savvy. So in addition to knowing how and why copiers do what they do we have had to learn to fix the PC/Network side also. And then contend with PC/Network?IT people who know better than us about printing and scanning and how a network operates etc etc. So pay to have it done right or pay your dues and visit the site and contribute before you ask for help. Sorry to all my toner brothers for the rant but getting tired of these IT types just dropping in and asking for help. Maybe if we got treated with more respect by them and they LISTENED when we tell them that they updated somnething on the network or PC and that they caused the problem instead of saying its our equipment and such then I might be more inclined to help. SO PAY FOR THE KNOWLEDGE THAT WE POSSESS> IT DIDN"T COME CHEAP

There are no windows 7 drivers for this machine. I doubt there is a vista driver. In my opinion it would be better to get something newer and let one go.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

        Wow

Mr. Spock - Thank you for your reply. The driver issue was one of the most important questions I had. I didn't want to put all that money into it and not be able to use it. Thanks!

As to the whopping 17 posts its because of a name change. I was digital copier resources for about 3 years on this board but after breaking my neck and not being around for 2 plus years and then having to contend with no one wanting to take the insurance risk of hiring me I became Ct copier repair, my own company. Sorry about my grammar. it is incorrect and with a BA in technical writing I do know better but was just tired and hurting actually. As for my toner brothers here, they know if I help, I am here all the time and share lots more in private than I do in public posts. As for being an "ass", why thank you. It always amazes me that the name calling starts. As for your research maybe you should have tried to disseminate the information as if you had read that much and are that technically savvy then perhaps you would have understood it. As for the drivers that was a "no brainer". If the Toshiba website did not have a win7 driver then end of story. It's a done deal. As for being a CAD nerd thats great. Building things is a good thing. I teach electronics and need 9 more credits for my MA in education. And talking about mothers is any way is a no class low class thing. It shows the depth of an intellect when they have to resort to such tactics. So as for myself, good luck in your endevours, and thankfully my children do not attend the school where you teach as you seem to be based on your comments another "No child left behind" burnout or just a mediocre teacher at best. Our children deserve much better. They deserve more than it appears that you can give. Once again sorry about the rant and rave but the list read like it was copied and pasted from the Estudio brochure for options and as such I did assume. Well shame on me. It will not happen again.

Congrats on the becoming a small business owner, it’s a rough economy out there, good luck (no sarcasm there). Maybe for the future lighten up your approach. Had you came on and said “Most of which you are asking is possible, but it’s not as simple as plug and play. I would suggest a professional.” I would have taken that a lot better and may have taken that advice. Had you approached the situation in that matter and you were local I would have looked into you company to help us out. With the way you did approach it I would tell everyone that I know not to use your company. First impressions are important. As far as the work goes now I see it as a challenge and want to do it, just to do it, lol. To be honest I really wouldn’t care if you had 30,000 posts on this board, I did nothing to provoke you in anyway, which is where you earned the “ass” badge for the week. You could have just as easily read the post stuck your nose up and clicked your back button. To type a whole rant was just uncalled for and rude. As far as the research; I did what I could and found what I know (still not much) but that will not stop me. I’ll continue to keep looking. It’s a “no brainer” for the driver just because Toshiba doesn’t have on one the website?!? You are a salesman, LOL. There are a lot of devices that do not have drivers for a certain OS, and there are many work-arounds for them. I seen no harm in asking if there were any. The “mom” reference was not actually intended to be a “mom comment” it was a play on your assuming. I assumed that someone that has gotten so mad about someone posting questions would be a shallow single lonely middle aged man that lives in his mom’s basement play video games and eating Cheetos in his underwear on a beanbag muttering I hope that model I met on the internet calls me. Well, I guess assuming has made an ass out of u and me. As far as judging me in career based on comments, you know nothing about me or my career. If you’d care to know more PM me; I don’t care to air my personal business out there. But I will say I’m a fairly new teacher from a technical field teaching at an inner city school, a job which I have a lot passion far and love. I job where I’m over worked and under paid, but it is extremely rewarding. To see the work these kids have produced is amazing. The after school club that I have created to keep the kids of the street has grown to a size where I have had to turn away a few students. The club is a one where they are creating and developing a computer video game from scratch using very sophisticated 3d modeling software and an even more sophisticated programing language. They hit a huge milestone the other afternoon where they were able to control the man main guy with mouse and keyboard (a room full of students cheering that there “man” took approximately 3 steps before the game crashed, what a site to see, high fives all around). As well as teaching two students that have earned full scholarships to a four year university, for the major that I am a pathway for, which is not common in a school like the one I’m in. So once again assumption wrong. Please know before you judge. If you don’t know ask, as I did. To think I thought I was doing the right and asking prior to messing something up, then coming on the board and saying “Oh no, I think I fired my board….What can I do?” which I’m sure you’ve never seen a post like that.
