    Toshiba E-studio 211c

    Hi,
Can anyone please help me clear the Code CF1 from my studio 211C. The macine displays the call for service sign and on pressing the cancel + 8 keys together it displays CF1.

I also need the fiery software on CD to reinstall the Printer Controller GA-1121.

    Thanks in Advance

Try holding down 0,8 buttons while turning the copier on, the go to 400 see if that will clear the code. Toshiba has on thier website to get the fiery cd's.

Had the same problem crop up intermittently on the 311C here as well.
CF1 = Colour Registration Control Abnormal

This is part of the image quality sensors and is usually covered in toner in a well used machine. (at least it was here)

I ended up removing both sensors and vaccing the entire area and reassembling. Each sensor didn't appear to have any visible problems but the problem has cropped up since.

The method to removal is detailed in the Service Manual and I can help run you through it if you want to clean it up.

As to turning off the complaint. Same as what Don Said:
08-400 a value of 1 means auto performing of IQ occurs, a value of 0 will disable auto IQ
all the settings 08-400 to 08-409 affect IQ in different ways.

08-415 - 08-418 all cover resetting counters for IQ errors which may be worth trying initially. the value should be 0-16 which are the total CE1, CE2, CE4 copier errors. Set all these to 0 and then run a test afterwards to see if any of these have gone up a notch.

anyway thats enough dribbling for now

          error messages

          Hi

I have a toshiba estudio 211c. The drums are due to be replaced and the local dealer/monopoly wants too much to replace them.

We have been using the unit as a rather large networked scanner (we need A3).

The machine now asks for a service.

I can get into the test screen (0+8) and have tried setting all the 4xx codes to 0.

Can you help me get rid of the service message?

          Ta

So let me get this straight, you are posting on a professional's board to get FREE help so you can save money on a service call? Anybody that helps you should have their head examined. You want to take $$ out of the pockets of the professionals that use this site.
My advice to you is to open the phone book and look for copier repair, I'm sure you can take it from there.

              Hi

Thanks for your reply. You seem a little aggressive, please read the rest of the post.

If I could get professional help at a reasonable price I would.
The quote to repair the unit came back conveniently close to the cost of a refurbished unit, way above the reasonable cost of parts and labour originally quoted verbally, and there is only one dealer / repairer in my location.

To be clear, I don't want to use the unit to print or copy, those parts are broken.
I want to use the scanner which is not broken, however the broken parts are asking for service which gets in the way of using the scanner.

So again can anyone please help clear the service request so I can use the scanner.

              Regards

I think the short version is that if I recall correctly you can't get "around" the "broken" parts to get to the good parts on that model.. it's a unit and works as one! (and not one of my faves either! Blech!) With every reboot it'll try to calibate/self adjust and if it can't you'll get codes.

                          Regards!

                            Dear Copytechman

Thanks for your reply. Nice to get one thats not hysterical.

As you gathered the machine works (the copies are tarnished) but there is no value in fixing it.

I will continue to tinker and would appreciate any help.

( If I really need to know I can count 'manuals' to sell me someone else's IP. )

                            Cheers

No worries, I've seen at least 4 generations of that "wonderful" box, from the fc22 series to the fc2100 series... more of the same old stuff.. it works when it does, but gosh help u when it doesn't.. A real "fun" box to work on!

                              Regards!
