[Misc] e Studio 3510C Total counter

Hello everyone,

I need help with procedure for resetting the meter on the eStudio 3510c to original count after replacement of controller Board. Got a group of 9 3510c Machines that are badly damaged in shipment. The total reading of a machine with different meter will be switched to salvage 3 of these. Can the total meters be set to the original count on these without the act of congress (like Canon) on these.

I would appreciate any help, I don't do Toshiba much!

Just to understand, you are making 3 machines out of 9 damaged machines and you want the 3 machines you are planning to use keep their original meter readings?
It will depend on what boards you are replacing, how many need replacing to get the machine working, and also the levels of firmware on each of the machines. With a bit more information I might be of more help. I am unsure also by what you mean by the controller board. I am assuming it is what I would call the system board (the one with the usb/network cable port).

michaelc, of the 9 original machines, 3 have none or least amount of damage to the frame. so, the task is to salvage that I can and let the customer deal with insurance claim for the rest. SO, before I go swapping the HDD and logic boards, I wanted to know how/where does the machine store it's identity and meter count. And do I have to change boards in pairs or can the logic board/HDD can swapped as needed??

The meter readings I am sure are kept on the scan logic, logic and system. You can only change 1 board at a time on Toshiba machines,but you can swap a board and a hard drive together. When changing the boards I use this procedure, I replace the board and update the firmware, then boot the machine up. If it boots up, I shut it back down and replace the ROM chip on the board (where info is kept) and update the firmware again.
I have found this method to work as changing boards on Toshiba machines can be a pain at times. There may be better ways to do it, but if a more experienced tech looks at this hopefully they will add to or correct what I have written.

Thanks Michael, The SM calls for one board replacement at a time, as you point, but I will go with firmware upgrade at the same time per your procedure just to be safe; except I don't have the latest firmware on this. Does Toshiba release firmware in a bundle for the main unit and accessories together? Are you able to upload this file?

I get my firmware supplied as a file, with the firmware for the whole machine. On screen you can select what you need to upgrade. I tend to do the whole lot when replacing boards. I can't give out firmware and I am not sure where to get it. I get firmware from Toshiba via the dealer I work for.

All Toshiba fw is separate.
