e-232 PM support counts and page counters don't add up.

I have a customer who bought what they were told was a refurbished machine from an interstate company. The first call I had to that job was for dirty outputs. I printed a PM support page and a page counter list and the numbers don't add up. As in, the dev count is 240k but the page count is only 100k roughly. Also fuser count is around 215k. So the machine needs a full PM. I have shown the customer the PM support page and explained to them they had been ripped off. What I want to know is, if there is a way for me to find out the actual counter on this box?
    Cheers all.
PS They bought another machine from the same company. Bloody accountants.

    Two things come to mind.
first pm counts 11x17 as 2 clicks meter counts it as 1. (you can set 8 1/2 x14 as 2 as well)
second someone played with the meter. There is a way to reset the meter lower but I will not tell you how. I did this by accident one day when troubleshooting a machine.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

try the 105 and 106 reports in the 9 Start mode. The error count can even show when the counter was changed. There used to be 2 error counters 106 and 107 the 107 is a full count of the errors. It becomes fairly obvious when an error occurs at 100k and the next is at 10k. The Service Pixel count also gives an accurate count.

There are several ways of resetting the counters even there is a way to change s/no. of the system so physically if the copy quality is poor its better to replace those affected parts.
