e-35 exit sensors going bad all the time

The Toshiba photo-interruptors ( PN: C0-03663000 ) on the e-studio 35 fuser exit sensors go bad all the time. The same sensor went bad on an e-studio 550 optical home position.
Has anyone by some chance tried a different make or part # for a sensor the works and does'nt go bad on a regular basis???

These Toshiba sensors are a joke.

Don't have any of those machines in the field, but that sensor in the DP 3580/ 2570/ 2460 several times. Never more than once in the same machine, and not in my entire population. (So far, anyway)

These sensors were pretty bad about flaking out in the bridge unit also. Toshiba has a new part # for the sensors. The culprit is the heat from the fuser unit. Replace the exit sensors with the new sensors and they should work fine.

Sorry, I don't have the number handy. I'll try to post it later.
sigpic No! we never do that with the copier.

Part number for the exit sensors is 4401983230 (SZ-LG248L1) these are the new and improved exit sensors that seem to work better.

          Thanks Boogotshot for your follow-up.
I think that may be an older part number.
I have started experimenting with other brand sensors from copiers I took apart that have the green colored PCB inside the sensor to see if they perform any better.
          Have a great week.
