    e355 FUSER NOISES

Just wondering if anyone else has seen this: Customer complained of noisy copier. Noise comes from the fuser. If you pull it out and rotate it by hand it makes a groaning noise. The bearings on the ufr (metal roller) were practically seized on the ufr. Ufr itself worn and uneven where bearings contact. Looks like metal from bearings interacted poorly with metal from ufr. Copier only has 96k on it. I'm going back with new bearings and ufr. Just wondering if this is something to expect from this series or just a one time oddity? We don't have a lot of these in the field yet.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

I've seen some strange things with this fuser. Had one with about the same copies that the UFR looked wrinkled all the way across. I've had several back out of the machine. Several more code out with fuser temp codes. Now when I get these in, we lower the temps by one setting, put lock tight on the screws, and make sure it has the latest firmware on the machine.

Hello, also the same problem here. Greased the 2 bearings of the upper fuser roller with heatresistant oil and now the noise is gone.
I cannot explain the cause of this problem but it was also at 100K.
I will follow this problem for countermeasure.

Make sure all the mods are fitted, and bearings are in the correct place. A little grease in the right place can make all noises disappear. Worst case, buy the customer a radio and turn it up.
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

Iv regreased a few of these for noises, but our main issue with these is the pressure roller getting a flat spot, even the new type of roller...
