[CQ] Lines that look lines from notebook paper

I have two es3510s that are printing lines that look like lines from notebook paper when copying. I have ruled out dirty optics by having them enlarge and reduce and the lines stay in the same place.

As far as printing neither machine is networked but on the first I was able to get them to run the meter print and test prints in the 04 mode without lines, the other one when they try to print out the meter sheet they see the message list print being reserved but it does not print and there is not a job showing in the job status screen. I am not sure if this is related to the lines or not.

I am pretty sure they have the latest firmware 355. If not I have it and will update it when I go out there.

I have not seen this before and would appreciate any thoughts or answers. The machines are over an hour away and I want to fix them the first time.

Here is a sample. The blocks of no image is had confidential information that I removed from the sheet and the lines are solid from lead to trail edge.

    Thanks Joe

If it's only happening when scanning (not internal prints) then I'd say CCD/SLG board or bad lamp/inverter board. Hopefully you've got a parts machine you can steal that stuff off and try it at the customers.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

      Check/reset/exchange memory module.

I'll never ask if I didn't check user manual, service manual, parts list, BSI/TNI/TAD... web, existing threads.

I've had those exact line before. Reseat the ram modules like above post and pull Image board off system board and reseat. Loose image board was my problem both times.
Also had close to the same problem with a recently delivered 6550C and the little pads under the mirror carriage had fallen out.

          Try cleaning the drum belt..
Located just inside the accessory tray door (you will also have to open the finisher Door)..
The belt is in the lower section (our 3155 has an orange belt).
          ..
Dust will cause streaks in the belt (the dust streaks will be visible).
          ..
Just use a lint free (clean) cloth and "gently" wipe the dust streaks off - you may have to do this more than once (meaning restart the machine, then when it completes its check open the doors and check, cleaning as necessary. Or: After trying a copy or print, re clean until the belt is dust free).
          ..
          Background:
Out 3155 is out on the factory floor. We are remodeling and adding new offices.
None of the contractors are particularly clean, in fact they are all messy.
They are required to keep dust to a minimum, but for some reason the copier is always getting covered in fine dust (even putting a sheet over it doesn't help).
I have instigated a protocol whereby the copier is powered down (turned off and unplugged) when not in use. Still I keep finding it plugged in and powered down to energy saver - hence, fine dust gets into the machine by way of the cooling fans).
          ...
People complained about the lines - I keep pointing out that it is dust and it wouldn't be a major problem if they would just turn the machine off and cover it when not in use.
          ..
One smart aleck pointed out it has filters 9dah, for normal office environment wth little or no dust flying around)...
Another Einstein has offered that maybe we should put a fan next to it to blow dust away from it (I don't know why they keep coming up with all these brilliant ideas ). The fan is supposed to blow across the machine - yet no one seems to understand it isn't the machine, its the contractor dust...Putting a fan to blow across the machine will only make matters worse. Case in point: the other day I came in and a fan was placed to blow across the machine - the machine was out or order (because the lines were back in force - worse than ever).
          ..
So my guess would be dirty imaging belt.
Take care, it is easy to damage this belt, and it is expensive to replace.
So make sure you wipe gently (a shop vacuum helps, but won't get it clean).
          ..
          Hope this helps.
          ..
