As the title says this machine is intermittently leaving a band about 3 inches wide where there appears to be poor transfer of toner. For example the sheet I am looking at is printed near solid red in this area and the red has a light and grainy appearance to it and so appears almost pink. It just looks like there is poor transfer of the toner to the paper. I do not beleive it is a fusing problem as the area above and below where the paper was left white is clean and the poor quality area has no gritty feel or anything to it. Also it seems if the fuser were bad enough to cause this it would not come and go. This area is on the right side of an 11X8.5 sheet so the problem would be to the front side of the machine. I am hoping someone has seen this type problem before on this model. I service this customers Minolta copiers and they have this 1 Toshiba Color machine they asked me to look at. The real problem is it does not do it all the time so it is difficult to stop the machine mid copy for example to see if the defect is on the trans belt or just the paper. Does not seem to matter what colors they are using so I do not suspect a drum or DV unit. Althought he did mention that he has removed the drums several times to clean them....with blanket wash! LOL. Overall CQ is perfect. 120K total copies on the machine 62K Color/58K Black.
I have included a sample where you can see the area.
Thanks!
