    e-studio 35 gl-1010 controller question...

Can someone please let me know if the gl-1010 controller card can be mounted in the PCI slot circled in yellow in the photo.

I thought that the gl-1010 needed to be mounted on the bridge board that comes with a PC box that is attached to the back of the e-s 35. But after opening the e-s35 up to expose the mother board, I started wondering if the gl-1010 could be mounted in the same spot as the ga-1040 on the highlighed PCI slot.

    Thanks

the GL101 slots into the underside of that connector on the Sys board, you shouldn't need anything else

I wish to wrap this up once and for all. A few more questions...

      1. When we say to install the gl1010 it all sounds nice and simple but are we talking about just a card here on its own? Just plug it in on the underside of the system board and that't it?

      2. If it is a card on its own, when connected to the underside of the system board, how is it secured in place? I don't see any mounting brackets on the underside as opposed to the top of the system board where there are mounting brackets everywhere. Also the card will sit upside down the RJ45 connector will be facing completely out of whack. Unlike the gl1040 for example. - This method does not make sense and feel there is more to it.

3 Does anyone have a photo to post of the gl1010 controller and all hardware bits and pieces required for installation?

4 My understanding so far of what the gl1010 controller is, is that it is a system (instead of just one card) that consists of the bridge board that connects to the underside of the system board and is housed in by a cover. On this bridge board a card is fitted with all the processor, memory, and lots of other things. Is this correct?

The issue is that when I look at purchasing the gl1010, I don't know what exactly I'm supposed to be buying.
I have this idea that it would be just a fancy CPU card without any mounting hardware and it will be unusable.

Can somone demystify what is now considered "black magic" surrounding this controller.

      Thanks
