First thing would be to try another cable. USB cables fail more often than one thinks.

If it's a B&W toshiba, then without the enabler (print, scan or print/scan combo) it will not print. If you have an enabler installed, but the wrong one, it won't print. Once you plug the USB into the MFP and your PC, you should get a message to install software. The driver is on the CD included with the MFP. Emujo

Also, the USB cable is standard, the slot you plug it in to determines weather it's USB 1.0 or 2.0. You never actually said you were trying to hook up a copier to the cable. Emujo
