Fax Not Connecting on a 451c

    Hello,

I just purchased and "installed" an off-lease 451c that had a fax board (GD-1200) installed just prior to me picking it up. However, the fax board refuses to "connect" in that it doesn't seem to communicate besides picking up an incoming call. If I call the fax number, it rings twice before the machine presumably picks it up, but the line is dead silent afterwards. When trying to send a fax, the LED lights up for a matter of seconds and I don't hear anything through the speaker. It errors out with a status of "0050".

I've followed every procedure I can find online, including reinitializing the fax board. The symptoms persist despite any changes I make. I did notice that the existing fax line is split with the DSL through a filter. Could this possibly be the cause?

Thank you for your help, let me know if you need more info.

need dsl filter for fax line. (dsl configuration is not supported)
check the phone line polarity is correct
replace the ncu pwb in fax unit.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

      Thank you for the advice.

Would the fact that the DSL modem is connected to the same filter cause any problems? I remember reading a note somewhere in one of the manuals that "parallel lines" or something will cause issues.
