been fighring this for a month or two... a clients machine randomly shows waste toner as full when its not. we clean entire system and replaced torque limiter... aby thoughts? thanks

I've seen this for sure...could be a bad sensor, but WAY more likely is the sensors are dirty.There are 2 to clean..1 where your belt/torque limiter is and another on the rear of copier below toner cartridge sensors..Had 2 901's beside each other for 3 years, each reaching 15 million copies...cleaning these sensors became routine for false waste toner messages. That whole area should stay clean or you'll get those intermittant messages..

I never had to replace the sensor in 3 years...Just shot them with an easy stream of canned air for a couple of seconds worked every time for me.

Well, I wound replacing the sensor at the back of the toner unit and she took off like a banshee. Hopefully it did the trick. I did try cleaning it with no avail. Thanks again for the help.
