    Tos es 282 mark

I am currently working on an eS 282. The machine is putting a dark streak perpendicular to the paper path, approx 90mm from the lead edge of the paper. It only does this in the LT direction, not at all the LT-R direction. It happens from both paper trays and the bypass. To this point I have replaced Drum and cleaning blade, found no problems in the fuser section, found no damage or obstructions in the paper path, and have replaced the feed rollers, and the transport and registration clutches. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am attaching a scan of the counter list that shows the problem. Ignore the dark gray bar at the bottom, not sure where thats from.
    Thanks, Dave.

Some additional info from this morning:
I stopped back at the machine. If I print out a function list under the administrator tab it starts the line on the second or third page. If I add the two font lists after the function list, there is evidently enough of a pause that the line does not show up on the font lists, as they are only 2 pages each. If I print out those lists in the LT-R direction, it does not appear. If I take a stack of clean originals and copy them through the adf it starts to show up after the first couple copies. It does this with one original as well, either through the adf or on the glass. The first copy that has a line is a fainter line, and it does get worse to a point. Once it hits that point, it doesn't get any darker. I may have mispoken about the distance from the lead edge. Today it seemed to be 122mm from the lead edge
    Thanks, Dave

Did you use the code to empty the recycled toner before giving it a service? Need to vac out the cleaning station on these models to or they can give you kick in the......
It didn't say that I couldn't do it in the manual.

Thanks for the thoughts. Yes the cleaner unit was vacuumed out when the drum was replaced. Hopefully will be going back today to play some more. I will update after my visit.

Blocked laser maybe, check the image unit for something blocking the path seeing as you rebuilt it.

I think that would leave a void, not a black streak.

Have you checked to make sure the pre-conditioning lamps are plugged in and working? There is the connector on top of the front cover and also underneath the front cover.

Are you using aftermarket drums? We used to use them in this series of machine but ran into that same problem. Switched back to genuine Toshiba and it fixed the issue.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

Well I definitely feel more humble. It was indeed the drum blade. I guess I shouldn't have assumed that a new drum blade does not necessarily equate to a good drum blade. Two blades with the same symptoms and only in one paper orientation is a little weird though. Thanks for the ideas.
