    [Dead] firmware engine fail M00

Hello i have a e-studio 3540c when i do a firmware update the engine rom keeps failing and giving the error code M00. I have replaced the power board, logic board and both ram sticks. I have done a (3+C) 2-format root partition, 3-format HDD, 8-Clear service tech password.

The photocopier won't turn on also cause of this.

Have you checked that you are using the right firmware? That series has one type of firmware for the 2040c, 2540c, 3040c, and another type of firmware for the 3540c and 4540c.
Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?

Like the others I havn't seen an 'M00' Error Code before - Question, did you replace the Logic PCB before, after or because of EC M00?
My suggestion would be to start back & refit ALL the original PCBs especially the LOGIC PCB & anything else removed from it - ensure you have correct F/W on the USB for this Model.

Power On holding 4+9 and when (or IF) the display shows the Options, then select ONLY 1 & 2 (System + HDD) to Update, then if ok, shut down & repeat except choose ONLY 3 & 4 (Engine & Scanner) to Update.

            If still ok then go to 08 Mode > 947 Start OK > 693 OK > 1119 OK - PO/PO.

Keep us Posted & Good Luck.

'Question, did you replace the Logic PCB before, after or because of EC M00'

A: I changed the Logic PCB because of the EC M00.

All the original parts are back in the original M/C tried firmware again but it still failed.

When installing the firmware the 1, 2, 4, 5, all installing correctly but when it gets to the 3 (engine) part it fails and produces EC M00.

is this a 355 455 if so you have to look by the lens to see if there is a red dot if so it take a different engine firmwars

Ok, this may be time consuming, however I don't believe you have a faulty PCB - maybe try removing & reseating the SYS & IMG PCBs and clean the contacts including the IF board contacts with a cloth dampened with WD40 and buff them after (do this with all the PCBs you remove incl RAM) there may be a comms issue between these boards, did you swap the Counter PCB when Logic board changed?
                  Then try FW update again.

                    Re: firmware engine fail M00

hi all thanks for all the help. What happened was that the LCF gear mounting plate had pinched a wire that runs from the LCF to the power board. The fuse on the power board kept blowing and causing the M00 error. Fix was release pinched wire replace fuse and redid firmware and m/c went back to normal after that.
Soooooo much trouble just for that but oh well all good now thanks for all the advise you guys gave me.

                        Thanks to Jerryl,

You gave me great idea and I found a blown fuse on power supply. I was struggling with firmeware/software unnecessarily.
