    520 with a C467 code

    Hi Guys,

I went out to this machine for a C447 code. There was a bad thermofuse, so I replaced the two fuses and the thermistors. Now the machine is getting a C467 code (low temp). My next step would be the heating element, or the board, but those are pretty pricey.

    Ideas? THANKS

Did you reset 08-400 to "0"?

It's common on this series of machines to get false fuser errors when the circuit is overloaded. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks again Blackcat! Yes, I did reset 400 to 0.

I'm just a little confused. It blew the thermofuse (too hot) and now I'm getting low temp codes. Have you ever had the heating element go out, or the fuser board go bad? The fuser gets warn to the touch, but not the usual screaming hot to the touch.

What do you mean by an overloaded circuit?

Negative. Most times I find nothing wrong with the fuser or boards. I reset 08-400, then get out the power quality analyzer to document the power problem.

The last incident, a huge Fellows shredder (12A draw) was on the same circuit. 16A for the MFP + 12A for the shredder = potential peak draw of 28A on a 20A circuit. The PQA documented ground to neutral spikes of 3.2vac when both devices were energized. =^..^=

This one is not intermittent. I can't get it to come to ready. I'll reset 400 to 0 then restart, but it just throws the code again.

Since it returns immediately I would replace the thermistors first. =^..^=

check to make sure the connector that the fuser plugs into the machine is not broken/dislodged or a paper wad in the connector (both common)If you need any of the boards let me know, I have a few cores here still.

you check thermistor of pressure roller. Is It ok?. And the pressure roller good or bad?. Checking the contact point between thermistor and pressure roller. I had machine with error code C46.. I replaced thermistor but nothing change. Finally I found pressure roller was worn. I rotated it the error code not occur.

                  Thanks Buuluu. I'll check that.

BTW - I did replace the thermistors and the thermofuses.

                    SUCCESS!

I have to admit that when people were suggesting the connectors, I was poo-pooing it in my mind. I mean how many times do connectors go bad? Well, when I got back out there I looked at the back of the fuser connector and pushed on the white part...Well SHAZAM! It moved. Big thanks guys.

Now another issue: This machine is leaking toner at the bottle holder. I looked at the parts manual and saw that there's a foam seal. Am I on the right track?

                    Thanks again!
