We recently received several Toshibas, models 2330C, 2830C,3520C, 455 & 555, that need to be returned to the leasing company. Their requirement is that we need to sanitize the machine's HDD's and reset the unit to factory default. I have little knowledge of this brand. Could anyone help me out here? Thanks!

You're looking at removing the HDD, to securely erase them you would need to either put in to a PC & secure erase with some HDD software, or Put a spike through the HDD (obviously killing it) or a Degausing machine which will basically destroy it also by magnetism.
Factory resetting i imagine would be a grey area, it may be fine where ever in the world you are, but i think it's something that can be deemed dodgy (resetting the machine obviously wiping the readings back to zero)
If i remember the code used to be something like 08 - 684 for a total reset anyway (but i'm stretching the memory banks here)

Unfortunately, we can't remove the HDD and destroy it. That would be the easy way. It has to function like factory default when we're done. I don't know how to get into service mode though, if you would be so kind to tell me. Thanks!Comment

It depend on how "clean" you'd like. You could format the hard drive, then reload the system firmware.
Ideally, you'd treat it as a HDD replacement, then format, then reload firmware. All the details are available in the manual. It's very clear.
I'm sorry, I don't read manuals to individuals perfectly capable of reading the manual themselves. Sadly, Paul is no longer available to sell you the manual, but you won't have trouble finding another source. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
