e Studio 5540C feed rubber on the hub backwards

You'd think by now that Toshiba would know what direction to put the rubber on the hubs. But I noticed today that the 5540C paper deck rollers on the black hubs (pickup and feed) come with the tread going the wrong direction. What got me looking was the fact that the rollers were getting half or less of the desired life.

Then I noticed that the 255/355/455 rollers that fit so many different machine have the separation rubber on the hub backwards. These are the same separation rollers that are so thin, and flat spot so easily. Now that I noticed, I can't just install them like that. I've got to slide off the rubber and get the tread going the right way .. and complain about it.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

It's the same kit as the e855 etc... but the roller goes on back to front, so like you say tread wrong way.
However we've tried turning the rubber on several 5520c - 6550cse as a test to see if they would achieve longer life & the ones we've turned have done less life not more.

      Regards.

We sell Samsung as well as Toshiba, the sep feed and pu rollers on those are all the same too, I tried to flip one once but tore the rubber, now I just put them on and don't worry about it lol, they do last quite awhile, lots longer than the Toshiba stuff does.
